Bhagalpur, Bihar: Keeping the safety of the people of Bhagalpur in mind, the railway administration has given an update regarding the Bhagalpur Shravani Mela railway situation ahead of the fair. The department took this decision to avoid any kind of inconvenience to the travelers due to the width and length of certain platforms. DRM Manish Kumar Gupta visited Sultanganj and Kahalgaon railway stations on June 13. We advise you to read the instructions carefully.
Bhagalpur Shravani Mela Railway Instructions Before the Festival
The railway administration has decided that long trains will not stop at Bhagalpur railway station platforms 2, 3, and 5. The reason behind this decision is that the width and length of these platforms are not adequate. Moreover, the stairs at the foot of the bridge are also very narrow. Because of this, the passengers face difficulty in boarding and disembarking amidst the heavy crowd.
On June 7, when the Godda-Gomtinagar Express was in platform number five, all the passengers faced severe difficulty. Some bogies of the train were also outside the platform, making it difficult for the passengers to step down. It was especially challenging for people with disability and elderly people.
The railway administration believes that if long trains continue to stop at small platforms, it might cause a major accident during the season of Shravani Mela. Malda DRM Manish Kumar Gupta assured that there will be no compromise in security during the fair. Also, the work of expanding these platforms will begin soon. The administration is in high alert mode regarding the convenience and safety of the passengers.
DRM Manish Kumar Gupta Inspected Bhagalpur Stations
During the Sultanganj railway station inspection, DRM Manish Kumar Gupta and his team reviewed the progress of work going on under the scheme of Amrit Bharat Station. Special attention was paid to drinking water supply, light arrangements, cleanliness of platforms, deployment of staff, crowd control measures, and counters.
Following Sultanganj, Manish Kumar visited Kahalgaon railway station, where work is ongoing under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana. He admitted that the work pace is relatively slow and instructed the concerned officials to ensure the completion of the renovation process within the next 20 days. He inspected the ticket counter, parking area, circulation area, footpath, and more, and also pointed out the need for improvements in these aspects. The station’s façade, signage, and ACP are almost complete, and the first phase of work is also finished. He made it clear that the convenience of Bhagalpur Shravani Mela railway travellers is the topmost priority.
DRM also assured that escalators will soon be provided in the station, keeping the ease of passengers in mind. He assured that soon the passengers will see a new look of the stations and it will be better in every way.
