Bhagalpur, Bihar: Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), two other medical colleges, and rural roads are being renovated under the Bhagalpur PMSSY-PMGSY 2025. Under the PMSSY scheme (Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana), the renovation work of the oldest hospital along with two medical colleges in Gaya and Bhagalpur was going on. The roads in rural Bihar are also being strengthened under the PMGSY scheme (Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana). The election year is showing the real depiction of Bihar’s progress. This current development of these three medical colleges is the Prime Minister’s special package to Bihar.
University And Medical Colleges Renovation Under the Bhagalpur PMSSY 2025

The Bhagalpur PMSSY 2025 is ensuring that the healthcare situation will change drastically. Anugrah Narayan Medical College and Hospital in Gaya and Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Bhagalpur have been upgraded at the cost of Rs 200 crore each. These colleges were inaugurated by Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, in September 2024. The renovation process of Patna Medical College and Hospital is in its final stage. The expense was more than Rs 200 crore and was made operational right after the inauguration.
The Central University in Bhagalpur and IIM in Bodh Gaya are also part of this project. IIM costs about Rs. 543 crore. Simultaneously, Vikramshila University is also being built at a fast pace. The DPR of this project was prepared by the New Delhi-based School of Planning and Architecture. It is now at the Union Education Ministry for approval. After the permit, the construction will begin, and it will cost about Rs 500 crore.
Road Construction Under the Bhagalpur PMGSY 2025

In order to strengthen the roads of rural regions in Bhagalpur and Bihar, a target was set to build a strong network of 2,500 km under the Bhagalpur PMGSY 2025. However, a longer road of 2,864 km has been constructed at the cost of Rs 18,909 crore. The share of the central government is Rs 11,474 crore, and the share of the Bihar Government is Rs 8,706 crore.
Gas And Petroleum Projects in Bihar
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi package is also behind the altered face of petroleum and gas projects in Bihar. Under this scheme, several projects related to GAIL, HPCL, and IOCL took place. The Barauni Refinery work under IOCL is underway at the cost of Rs 14,810; it is expected to be completed by August 2026.
By far, three projects have been finished under IOCL (about Rs 4,369 crore), including the construction of BS-4 and BS-6 level fuel purification plants at the refinery. The cost was Rs 1500 crore. The construction price of the pipeline between Motihari and Amlekhganj was Rs 324 crore. The cost of extension word of the LPG pipeline between Paradip Haldia and Durgapur was Rs 2545 crore.
In total, four projects have been completed by HPCL at the cost of Rs 176 crore. By spending 45 crore, the capacity of the Patna LPG plant was doubled. An additional storage capacity of 1.5 tonnes has been developed in the same plant at the cost of Rs 15 crore. The Purnia LPG plant has been upgraded by doubling its capacity. By spending Rs 110 crore, a new LPG plant was built in Sagauli. And, at the cost of Rs 2300 crore, a 617 km long Jagdishpur-Haldia pipeline has been prepared under GAIL. In a nutshell, Bhagalpur PMSSY-PMGSY 2025 is doing the unimaginable for the development of Bihar.
