The Marwari College Bhagalpur, the first commerce institute in Bihar, has its roots in 1941, and Kolkata is the pioneering commerce institute. Today, Marwari College prevails among other University institutions as it consists of more than 21 departments of all three faculties united with an extensive student population exceeding 6000, including a technical course and similar kinds of educational programmes.

The Marwari College has won its rightful fame as the leading institution in India for Commerce teaching. But the prestige of the teaching in the other faculties was no less well-known or respected throughout the country. The college has earned the privilege of being advised by many wise persons over the years. Following the lead of Shri Rai Bahadur Bansidhar Dhandhania, Founder Secretary of Marwari College, Marwari Pathshala Samiti in 1941 gave its go-ahead to convert the Marwari Pathshala to Marwari College was established separately from this school, and this new body was named after the current one.

• Admission to a course will be closed once the seats are filled.
• Request for admission (Arts, Commerce, Science & Vocational Courses ) will not be entertained without a duly submitted application form. No application for admission will be accepted after the notified date.
• No individual intimation regarding admission will be sent. All notifications regarding admission to various courses will be put up on the College notice board and its websites.
• Eligible candidates can apply to the college on a prescribed application form available from the college sales counter along with the prospectus. The Application form should be filled up with all the required details and should be submitted to the college office.
• All notices regarding admission will be displayed on the College Notice Board from time to time and college websites.
• Selected candidates shall have to appear in counselling & then be able to take admission within the specified date, after which their claim shall not be entertained.
• Seats for different caste categories, i.e, OBC, EBC, SC & ST, are reserved as per the rule of the state government. At the time of admission, the candidate has to submit the caste certificate compulsorily.
• At the time of admission, candidates would choose the subject carefully. After admission chosen subjects will not be changed.
• The original and one attested photocopy of the following documents are to be submitted at the time of admission:
  1. Migration certificate from the institution last attended.
  2. Marks sheet of the examination passed.
  3. School Leaving Certificate / College Leaving Certificate
  4. A separate character certificate from the institution last attended
  5. Four copies of recent unattested stamp-size black & white photographs
