The land acquisition process of the Bhagalpur-Hansdiha four-lane project has been stepped up. From Aliganj bypass police station to Dhakamod in Banka district, a total of 40.072 hectares of land will be acquired. This covers kilometre markers 117 to 134. The department has already marked the land, and the landowner now has the opportunity to register objections. Earlier, due to the non-acquisition of land, the department had to postpone this project repeatedly, but now that obstacle is not in the way.
The aim of this project is to reduce the distance between Bhagalpur and Hansdiga in Jharkhand and will speed up business activities as well as regional development. It will also become much easier to go to Deoghar and Basukinath. Currently, it takes about four hours to go from Deoghar to Dumka. After the construction of the four-lane road, people can reach Dumka and Deoghar in two hours. According to March reports, the cost of the Bhagalpur-Hansdiha four-lane on both phases will be a total of Rs 1973 crore. NH Executive Engineer Brijnandan Kumar also confirmed during this time that the maintenance work of Vikramshila Shetu will also be done.
Bhagalpur-Hansdiha Four Lane: MoRTH’s Gazette

The Bhagalpur-Hansdiha four lane road project process has been accelerated, with the land marking done under the first phase. The land of the seven villages of Chandan and Katoria blocks has been marked.
MoRTH, or the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has published a gazette related to land acquisition. Through this, the affected landowners will have the opportunity to raise their objections concerning their land. Within 21 days from the date of publication of the gazette, the landowners can submit their objections in writing to the local office. Following the process, the competent authority will settle the objections. According to the gazette notification, the private land of 406 landowners in these areas has been marked. The acquisition area also includes the Kali temple, farmland, and parts of some houses.
According to the reports of May, at present, this road is two-lane. The 7-meter Bhagalpur-Hansdiha road will be made four-lane. Service lanes will be built on both sides of the 14-meter-wide road, and a drain will also be built. Land will be acquired with a width of 35 to 40 meters.
Other than the Bhagalpur-Hansdiha four-lane, another four-lane road is currently under construction, which will also offer relief to commuters. The Ekchari-Mahagame four-lane will be built for 14.7 kilometres. In Bhagalpur, land will be acquired from Kahalgaon and Sanhaula taluk. The land to be acquired for this project includes both private and government lands.
