In relevance to catering to the additional demand of summer holidays, Indian Railways has announced the implementation of summer special trains. The given decision tries to address the added workload during the summer time so that travel is easy for people traveling or going on tours for holidays. New Delhi – Bhagalpur – New Delhi Special Train (via DDU-Patna-Kiul-Jamalpur)
- 04068 – Special New Delhi – Bhagalpur: This train will run from Delhi to Bhopal on every Sunday and Wednesday from May 11 to July 9, 2025.
Departure from New Delhi is on Thursdays at 2 P.M. (14:00) in Local Time. It will likely arrive at Bhagalpur by the next day at 13:30 (1:30 P.M.) The train will have a stop at DDU at 02:50 hrs(next day) and Patna at 07:30, and Kiul at 10:40, which will also be followed by Bhagalpur. Meanwhile, Train Number 04067 (Bhagalpur-New Delhi Special) will be the second one available in this list. Will run daily on Monday and Thursday from Bhagalpur to New Delhi, starting from 12th May to 10th July.
Departure from Bhagalpur: 14:30 hrs – Stops include: Kiul at 17:15 hrs, Patna at 20:45 hrs, DDU at 01:10 hrs (next day) This train offers convenient connections to various key stations along the route, making it easier for passengers traveling between the national capital and Bhagalpur.
Summer Special Trains: Amritsar – Saharsa – Amritsar Special Train (via Barauni – Hajipur – Chhapra – Gorakhpur- Moradabad- Yamunanagar- Jagadhri)
- Train Number 04618 (Amritsar-Saharsa Special) The Amritsar to Saharsa special will operate from May 12 to July 8 2025, every Monday and Tuesday. Departure from Amritsar: 20:10 hrs Stops include: Hajipur at 22:15 hrs, Barauni at 23:45 hrs (next day) Arrival in Saharsa: 02:30 hrs (third day)
- Train Number 04617 (Saharsa-Amritsar Special) This special train will operate from Saharsa to Amritsar every Wednesday and Thursday starting from 14 May, until 10 July 2025. Departure from Saharsa: 04:40 hrs Stops Include: Barauni at 08:00 hrs, Hajipur 10:10 hrs Arrival in Amritsar 14:00 hrs (next day)
These services provide enhanced connectivity between Amritsar and Saharsa with several halts at major stations, benefitting passengers traveling across the northern and eastern parts of India.
Summer Special Trains Running from Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar
To cater to the surging demand, Indian Railways has taken a decision to further extend the operational schedules of three pairs of inter-regional special trains that travel from Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar.
- Train Number 05283 (Clone Special Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar)
Now will operate every Friday starting from 16 May to 27 June 2025. - Train Number 05284 (Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur Clone Special)
Now will operate every Saturday starting from 17 May to 28 June 2025. - Train Number 04030 (Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur Special) has had the operational period extended from 20 May to 8 July 2025 and will continue to operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Train Number 04029 (Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar Special)
This service will continue till July 09, 2025, operating every Wednesday and Sunday. - Train Number 04018 (Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur Special)
Will continue its operations every Thursday until 10 July 2025. - Train Number 04017 (Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar Special) The service will continue every Friday until 11 July 2025.
This is set to relieve the most passengers going to and coming from Patna and Delhi during the peak demand and travel season, which is the summer holiday.
Cancellations of the Special Rajgir-Khagaria-Rajgir Train Service
Rajgir-Khagaria-Rajgir Special Train 03266/03265: Both mid-May (before the peak) and end-May (after the peak travel season) technical interruptions will automatically cancel the special services between May 6th to May 31st, 2025. This applies to May 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.
The changes put into place reflect the planned changes that aim to alleviate crowding during the summer holiday season. Passengers specially traveling towards the other major cities like Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, and Anand Vihar will appreciate the availability of new special train services along with the extension of pre-existing routes, which will drastically reduce crowding as well as enable easier travel.
